What the Job Entails

As a Backend Developer, you will help build and evolve Spott’s recruitment platform, working primarily with TypeScript and Node.js. You will contribute to core product features and improve backend code to ensure the platform remains scalable as Spott’s customer base grows. The role combines hands-on development with thoughtful technical problem-solving: you will design robust software solutions, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and make pragmatic decisions that support product quality and long-term performance. You will join a product-focused team in Leuven and work in an open, collaborative environment where you can develop quickly while helping shape an ambitious AI-native product.

• Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.
• Preferably at least two years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning and experimentation.
• Ability to solve complex technical challenges and design scalable software solutions.
• AI application experience, including prompt engineering or fine-tuning, is a plus.
